If you’ve ever wondered how to get your kids to eat their veggies, this broccoli smoothie is for you.

Most green smoothies contain spinach or kale, but overlook broccoli. You won’t even know it’s there, and neither will your kids (see my list of the best veggies for picky eaters)!

Smoothies are a great way to sneak in hidden veggies. You can sneak in everything from cauliflower and broccoli to zucchini and greens. You just have to pair them with the right ingredients.

Even if you’re not a broccoli fan, you will love this smoothie. Mango, banana, and pineapple add natural sweetness and a tropical flavor. Make this vegan smoothie for a healthy breakfast or a nutritious afternoon snack. It’s sweet, delicious, and easy to make!

Broccoli Smoothie Recipe Benefits

  • It’s super easy – just place everything into the blender and blend.
  • It’s dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, & packed with nutrients.
  • You will love this kid-friendly on-the-go breakfast or snack. It’s refined sugar-free and only sweetened with fruit.

Ingredients

  • Unsweetened plant milk – I used almond milk because it has a mild flavor and natural sweetness. Oat milk has a strong flavor so I only recommend using it if you like the flavor. Cashew milk, soy milk, rice milk, or any plant-based milk works perfectly. If you’re not dairy-free or vegan, you can use regular milk.
  • Broccoli florets – Fresh or frozen both work great. Just be sure to buy the florets and not just the cuts. Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable that is packed with nutrients like Vitamin C and Vitamin K. It also has a healthy amount of fiber and antioxidants! My preference is to use blanched and frozen broccoli in this smoothie to really hide the taste. See how to freeze broccoli for smoothies. You can also use boiled broccoli that you freeze just for this smoothie.
  • Frozen pineapple – Pineapple has a natural sweetness and acidity that masks the flavor of the broccoli. Pineapple is a perfect fruit for green smoothies.
  • Frozen mango – Mango adds to the tropical flavor and sweetness of the smoothie.
  • Frozen banana – Be sure to freeze a ripe banana for this recipe. When bananas ripen, their starch converts to natural sugar. A ripe banana is a sweet banana!
  • Avocado – Avocado is a sneaky ingredient that thickens and makes the smoothie creamy! It has a mild flavor so you can’t even taste it. Feel free to leave out the avocado and use chia seeds instead.
  • Ice – Ice is optional, but if you like your smoothie thicker, you can always add some ice.
