Your Recipe Ideas & Healthy Vegan Friday

Hello and happy Friday to you! I’m very happy that so many of your responded to the giveaways from this week, including the Navitas Naturals gift pack that ended today and the Bravo (no salt, oil or sugar) cookbook that runs until Monday.

Navitas Naturals Giveaway Winner:

Oh my goodness, we had 165 entrants to this one. I used the random number generator to select comment #154 which was from Judon who said:

“Hi Carrie,
Our smoothies include frozen org broccoli, we vary our greens, kale, collards, bok chou, spinach etc. some type of berry, frozen org banana, pomegranate arils, some type of sprout, ground flax seed, chia seed, sometimes maca, sometimes cacao. love Nativas!
I usually add 1/4 of an org lemon to sweeten the sharp chlorophyll taste.”

Your Recipe Ideas:

I’m sorry if you didn’t win this one (I hate disappointing people!), but thank you very much for all of your comments. I learned a lot reading about your fantastic smoothie combinations and add-ins. Healthy Vegan Challenge Update:

If you are participating in the Spring 2013 Healthy Vegan Challenge, then how is it going for you? This weekend will mark the end of week three which means five more to go. I’ve definitely had to confront some unhealthy habits that I had formed over time, but so far I have stayed right on track with my goals and I’ve even added a few more over the past 18 days to stick with a cleaner eating program. My sugar cravings have pretty much disappeared, but I had to deal with the chocolate monster yesterday (I won). We have a fantastic group for the Challenge over on Facebook, feel free to join us there if you need more support.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend. Please join me back here on Monday for another exciting week of delicious, health-promoting recipes and inspiration.

P.S. You can find over 70 whole food recipes on Vegan Delish all made with no oil, salt or sugar for your iPhone or iPad with mouth-watering photos, digital shopping lists and social media sharing options for only $1.99. Get it here!

Yum, the Fudgy Sweet Potato Brownies look right up my ally. Love that she includes a cup of dates in the recipe, that always adds a of extra bit of sweetness!
